We have people visiting our clinics to have their glasses adjusted. Some require minor adjustments just because of wear and tear and others require extensive adjustments. We believe it is very important to have your glasses frames adjusted periodically.
Let’s look at some of the reasons that regular adjustments are a good practice.
Comfort: Properly adjusted frames should feel comfortable on your face. If they’re too tight, they can cause pressure points or headaches. If they’re too loose, they can slip down your nose, causing constant readjustment.
Optimal Vision: Misaligned frames can affect how your lenses sit in front of your eyes, potentially distorting your vision or causing eye strain. Regular adjustments ensure that your lenses are properly aligned for optimal vision correction.
Prevention of Damage: Frames that are too loose or too tight can put unnecessary stress on the hinges, causing them to loosen or even break over time. By keeping your frames properly adjusted, you can extend their lifespan and prevent costly repairs or replacements.
Appearance: Ill-fitting glasses can look crooked or uneven, detracting from your appearance. Properly adjusted frames sit straight on your face, enhancing your overall look.
Preservation of Prescription: If your glasses aren’t sitting properly on your face, you might unconsciously tilt or adjust them to compensate, which can throw off the alignment of your lenses. Regular adjustments help ensure that your prescription lenses are positioned correctly for optimal vision correction.
Adaptation to Changes: Your face shape can change over time due to factors like weight fluctuations or aging. Periodic adjustments ensure that your glasses continue to fit well despite these changes.
Prevention of Skin Irritation: Frames that are too tight can dig into the skin behind your ears or on your nose, causing irritation or even sores. Proper adjustments can alleviate this discomfort.
Overall, regular adjustments help maintain the comfort, effectiveness, and longevity of your glasses, ensuring that they continue to serve you well.
