We are your family-oriented local Comprehensive Internal and External Eye Care Clinic by providing comprehensive eye examinations and customized advice for the glasses that best suits you.
Our wide range of services include adult and children’s eye exams, co-management of LASIK eye surgery, eye emergencies and treatment of eye diseases including glaucoma and cataracts, and providing prescription glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses. For your convenience, we offer direct insurance submission and OHIP-covered annual eye exams for children and seniors. We utilize our cutting edge technology, incredible team and the latest in eyewear to create a truly exceptional eye care experience.

Our flagship store is located at 45 Grist Mill Road, Unit 6 in Holland Landing, serving the communities of Holland Landing, East Gwillimbury, Newmarket, Bradford, Sharon, Aurora, and more!
Our Midtown Toronto store is located at 2079 Yonge St in Toronto, serving the serving the community of Toronto.

We offer a large selection of frames and sunglasses that you can try on in store, to make sure you are going home with what looks and feels the best on your face. Our staff will help you find the perfect style, size, and color to fit your price and range. We are also always happy to order in the frame of your colour and/or design. We are up to date on the latest trends and restock our frame boards with the newest styles regularly. Can’t find a frame you like? We can put new lenses in your existing frames!

You can be assured you’re getting great quality lenses and frames. We are confident that the products available to you will give you the clearest eyesight and excellent durability. Online vendors often use low quality products, because they assume that the customer cannot tell the difference. We will walk you through all the differences in lenses and options available to you. We want you to be happy with the frame and lens you choose, without having to pay for additional things you don’t need.

Our staff ensures we get precise measurements of your eyes which we use to place your lens order. Online vendors do not have this option, so they have no way to ensure your prescription matches with your line of sight.

We can bill your insurance company for you. Most online vendors and optical stores do not. We can check your benefits before you even come into the clinic and get payment directly from your insurance company.

In addition to billing your insurance company directly, we will attempt to keep you in your plan maximum when purchasing your eyewear, ensuring you don’t pay anything out of pocket.

Dropped your glasses? We can provide one-year warranty on all scratches/coating defects, provided there is no evidence of aggressive use.

Can’t get used to your new prescription? If you find that you are not adjusting to your new eyewear, we will change the prescription, with our one–time lens redo, at no charge, within the first 3 months of purchase.

We verify your lenses upon delivery, to check accuracy and make sure the proper prescription was administered. Most online vendors do not check your prescription, which leads to several errors.

We offer adjustments and small repairs. Our staff will accurately adjust and fit your eyewear to your face, and ensure they are as comfortable as possible. We only offer these adjustments on frames purchased from our clinic.
10.
Our Optometrists are available to review your eyewear needs and verify your vision if you have any difficulties adjusting to your new eyewear, free of charge. We are committed to making sure you love your eyewear!

Dr. Samantha Chan - OD
Chief Eye Examiner
Dr. Chan completed her undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University and went on to
study her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico. While
studying in Puerto Rico, Dr. Chan gained a high degree of proficiency in Spanish and welcomes
the opportunity to serve Spanish-speaking patients. Serving patients of all ages, her clinical
interests include dry eyes, myopia control, and pediatrics. Outside of the practice you will find
Dr. Chan spending time with friends, family and being a pet-parent to her four-legged child,
Dezi and avoiding bugs at all costs!
Dr. Bhavithra Umapathisivam, OD
Optometrist
Dr. Umapathisivan (“Uma”) graduated from McMaster University and obtained her Doctor of
Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry. She then completed her
externships the Providence Veterans Affair Medical Centre, the East Boston Neighborhood
Health Centre and multiple private practices. Dr. Uma is so LOVED by our patients for her
thoroughness that some come from as far as Barrie just to see her. Frankly, we would travel
even further.
Michelle Da Silva,
Optician, Eyewear Stylist and Style Coach
Michelle has been in the optical industry for over 17 years providing excellence in patient care she has worked with leading entrepreneurs in the field. Michelle is finishing her last year in Opticianry and writing her NARCOR in 2024. She has also competed fashion at Seneca and has developed a wide skillset that sets her apart in the field with an exquisite attention to detail as she creates visual merchandising and styling for her patients. She is the proud pet-parent of her American Bully XL Canela, who is our lovable and loyal part-time security dog at Sightcare.
Raphael Araujo,
Eyewear Stylist and Style Coach
Raphael is the newest frame stylist at our Midtown store. With their passion for style and fashion, Raphael assists our clients in finding the perfect glasses to complement both their lifestyle and their personal style. Raphael loves working with their hands, and they are a glasses repair & adjustment wizard! They also help us to create eye-catching displays for the window and the store. In their spare time, Raphael handmakes upcycled jewelry, and loves thrifting and yoga.
Tammy Proulx
Eyewear Stylist and Style Coach
Tammy is the style genius at our East Gwillimbury location. Tammy loves three things; helping our clients find the best glasses, organizing things, and cleaning. She recently moved to the East Gwillimbury neighbourhood to join Sight Care and we are grateful for her ability to organize our practice and her always cheery personality. She is quickly becoming a favourite of our local clients.
Janice Bloomfield
Clinic Coordinator
Janice spent a lot of her career in the pharmaceutical industry. At Sight Care she is enjoying working for an organization that serves the community. She enjoys getting to know our patients while providing them with the ability to see clearly and staying ahead of the latest trends in the optical industry. She is the familiar voice who calls to remind you of your appointment and is always cheerful and professional.
Judy Lee
Certified Eyewear Stylist and Style Coach
Judy is a reformed Banker who still gets excited when analyzing financial statements (yes, we find that crazy too!). She used to help entrepreneurs with strategic and financial advice and now she is an entrepreneur and is chasing her passion for making the eye care experience fun. Judy has completed her Eyewear Styling Academy, the International Association of Style Coach certifications from London, England. She also completed an Optical Assistant certificate.
Kevin Tennant
Director of Everything Else
Kevin is responsible for all the less exciting stuff like Human Resources, Technology and Marketing. He grew up in Northern Ontario and has lived in the Greater Toronto Area for over
40 years. When not working on the business, Kevin can be found trying to learn golf, hanging
out with friends and family or watch binge-watching Suits on Netflix.
Jenevieve Bowerbank
Social Media and Marketing Manager
Jenevieve is our Social Media and Marketing Manager. She is known for crafting engaging digital narratives and driving brand success. Her creative flair and data-driven approach make her a valuable asset in building and managing brand social media accounts, creating impactful content, and optimizing online presence. Outside of the clinic, Jenevieve is enrolled in her colourful world of Creative Industries at TMU. At school, you can usually find her playing volleyball or studying with friends.
