various glasses styles on shelves. Eyeglasses have evolved to become a fashion statement

Eyeglasses: Function And Fashion statement.

When eyeglasses were first introduced in the 13th century, they were used as a functional tool to help people with visual impairments to see better. They were anything but a fashion statement. Fast forward to the present day, eyeglasses have evolved to become a fashion statement that can enhance a person’s appearance and style.

Here’s how eyeglasses have evolved to become a fashion statement and serve both purposes.

Functionality

Eyeglasses are designed to correct various vision impairments such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. The lenses in eyeglasses are specifically crafted to bend light so that it focuses correctly on the retina, allowing the wearer to see clearly. Additionally, eyeglasses can also protect from harmful UV rays, dust, and other environmental factors that could damage the eyes.

Fashion statement

Eyeglasses are not just functional tools, they are also an accessory that can complement a person’s style and fashion sense. Nowadays, eyeglasses come in many styles, colours, and shapes. Eyeglasses frame materials include plastic, metal or wood. These options allow people to choose eyeglasses that match their fashion preferences and enhance their overall appearance. Some people even choose to wear non-prescription glasses purely as a fashion accessory.

At Sight Care we help our clients select glasses that serve function and fashion. Our team is experienced in helping choose frames for multiple purposes and occasions.  Some of our staff have received certifications in Eyewear Styling Academy and the International Association of Style Coaches from London, England
